Career Experience

I spent the first half of my life in the Army. During my time in service, I taught, coached, and mentored hundreds of young soldiers as they pursued their professional and personal goals. Since my retirement in 2021, I've completed two degrees encompassing professional, technical, and creative writing. Today, I use these skills to freelance as an editor and write and publish my own work.

I Love Tutoring Because

I love the ah-ha moment. Anytime I can help a student grasp a new concept and I get to see that look of understanding on their face, it is like I'm reliving it all over again. I am a lifelong learner and believe that we are never done accumulating and oftentimes relearning knowledge. Tutoring helps me stay sharp and in some ways, it helps me feel like I am keeping language alive in our fast-paced world.
