Assembly line. Avatar.

Work from the Avatar series. Like the whole series, “Assembly line” is made in only three colors – black, red and white. Extensive experience in exhibition design allows the artist to create technically accurate images. Automated tentacles in the assembly shop are functionally accurate. They can be made in real life.

The rhythm of white tentacles, the tangibility of the texture of metal and plastic, cold shades of red glow, white stars of sparks – all this creates a feeling of inhumanity of what is happening, a sense of rejection of the imperfection of the biological body. But this is the work of Andrei Surnov, and therefore there is always compassion in it.

The artist chose the moment when the skull was created. But the memory of our own body reminds us of the tension and pain that we experience while sitting in the dental chair. And suddenly we begin to sympathize with this metal creature, sandwiched in the tentacles of a soulless mechanism.
